Just got back from the first climbing trip of the year, out to Red Rocks in NV. Some friends of ours snapped this of us early in the day on Chrimson Chrysalis. Great route, long day (13 hours car to car).
What’s going on in Egypt and Tunisia right now is crazy. It seems to me so often that Americans are all talk and no action when it comes to trying to enact change. I have a lot of respect for people who will do anything — even take to the streets amidst a police crackdown — to make themselves heard.
It’s also interesting how big a role technology has played in this. Twenty years ago it would have been a lot easier for these governments to crack down on official news sources and keep any local unrest under wraps. Now everybody has a camera phone and between Facebook/Twitter/Youtube people can get the word out about whats going on almost instantly.
A pair of doctors lived in the townhouse I’m renting now, and this arrived for one of them the other day. This is definitely a level of dress I’m not familiar with, I mean, where exactly do you purchase a top hat? For that matter, does this mean there are other more formal events where a top hat is required?
I want a top hat.
Emptying the wort out of the mashtun for my first all-grain beer brewing adventure.
It took me most of yesterday afternoon, but I think everything went pretty much according to plan. Crossing my fingers that nothing nasty is living in my yeast starter, but otherwise I should have a pretty potent maibock lager in a couple months!
I picked this beauty up from the good folks at A Nearly New Shop on Friday. Her name is Shiva, and she is a pretty sweet ride so far.
SHIVVAAAAA!! (Side note: can’t wait for the new season of The League).
